Kenny + Nicole | Engagement

September 10, 2021

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Nicole for a long while now. We went to school together and she knows my younger brother, plus we’ve been social media friends all along! So when I saw that she’d gotten the big question popped, I was literally SO. EXCITED. for her! I knew she’d been waiting for this milestone for quite a while and I truly was so happy for her. Nicole and I have exchanged business a few times, as she’s an esthetician who does lashes, and I had the pleasure of going to her when she was still learning! She also came to me for some graphic design work for her esthetician business (Brent’s Barber Shop), so we’ve had a few interactions before. Of course, I was thrilled when she came to me for her engagement photos!

I knew both Kenny and Nicole were avid motorcycle riders (Harley Davidson, to be exact) and they did not disappoint, showing up to their session at Blackhawk Springs Forest Preserve on their Harley. We ran through some of the more romantic shots, re-enacting their engagement before moving on to the shots on the motorcycle! With COVID and all of the stress that brings, they’re waiting until 2023 to tie the knot, but I’m hoping that I’ll get to be a part of their special day then, too! I had such a blast laughing (and sweating) with these two on a hot

summer’s day in nature! Not to mention, these two were nervous about how getting photos done would be, but they reassured me that they had a blast and it was more fun than they thought! I always try to tell people we’ll keep it light, fun, and quick! Especially for the gentleman – I know they’d much rather be chowing down on a burger with a beer than out posing for romantic photos, but that’s why I always recommend date night for after your photoshoot! It’s a great way to wind down and have a sweet evening together that you’ll always remember.

Nicole was also not afraid to wear something daring, sexy, and strong for her shoot! I love that so much! She really embraced her style and went for it and I’d say – it definitely paid off! Check out a few more of the sweet shots of these two’s engagement photos in Rockford, Illinois!
