Harmony + Josh | Boho Dreams Wedding

August 11, 2021

Harmony and Joshua came to me with plans for a big wedding at a gorgeous venue and I was immediately so excited! I could tell that their impeccable style and eye for detail was going to lend to a stunning event! Unfortunately, COVID did interrupt these beautiful plans, but Harmony was not to be deterred – In fact, in the end, she created an event that was probably even more beautiful and intimate in a friend’s backyard with a beautiful ceremony and a large reception tent. The yard games were too cute and with Star Wars embellishments sprinkled throughout, it was truly one of a kind! I loved how each detail told a little more about Harmony and Joshua and their love story.

Their day started off with me and the girls getting ready at the hotel, in the conference room! We took the dress outside for some photos, grabbed detail shots, and got her into her dress! Harmony opted for a simple yet elegant gown that hugged her curves and really set the tone for the entire day! She was so calm and light-hearted, I was shocked at how chill she was! Talk about keeping it together – I was almost thinking she must’ve done this before!

Meanwhile, my 2nd shooter Michelle was with the guys while they got dressed and helped the groom get ready! They also gave him his gift from Harmony, a Boudoir album filled with images I’d taken of Harmony previously at their original wedding location, Heritage Prairie Farm. The photos were gorgeous and paid homage to her fiance and his services rendered with the United State service. Just like Harmony, the photos were classy and elegant! The blush on Josh’s face truly says it all!

At the same time, Harmony was receiving her gift from Joshua – A photo book of their memories together. While she dabbed her tears and paged through the book, I snapped away, trying not to cry myself! These moments are truly just so gorgeous and one of the many things I truly love about wedding photography! There was, of course, a first look with the bride’s dad, and it was just perfect! We of course took some bridal party photos and then it was time to get the show on the road!

A beautiful and heartfelt ceremony filled with both tears and laughter followed and then it was time for the formal photos and the party! Delicious food and moving toasts from loved ones later, the dancing started and went on until dark. Sneaking a taco from the taco truck on my way out, I couldn’t help but think back on what a truly gorgeous day it turned out to be! Despite the setbacks relating to COVID, Harmony and Joshua pushed through and made their day magical. Their perseverance in the face of COVID and all of the stress it brought was a testament to how they’ve chosen to live their lives, both separately and apart. They chose to move forward with their love story, not letting anything hold them back from their destiny.

Harmony and Joshua are happily married now and just had their first baby. Congratulations to the happy couple and it’s been such an honor to be a part of your love story and to watch your family begin! This is what it’s all about. ♥️
